Well, shame on me for going six months without updating my journal. But my traineeship has been over for a month now and I've finally caught up on the backlog of stuff to check and review online - except for fanfiction.net. Haven't checked that yet. It's still on my list, though.

Okay, updates!

Since finishing my traineeship and losing my job due to the organisation I was working for losing a contract, I have been spending all day at home. And what have I been doing? Well, on top of maintaining the house's condition (usually) I have been doing what I've wanted to do for months and WRITE MY NOVEL!

Details? Well, essentially it's the original form of my fanfiction Pokemon Watchers. The synopsis:

Two hundred and seventy-nine years ago, the Shadows, unable to maintain their world, sought to defeat the Charzin's homeworld with force.

Thanks to a new nanotechnology that enabled the Charzin to manipulate basic natural forces, such as electricity, heat, and gravity, the Shadows were defeated.

The Shadows returned to their silent world, waiting but planning for their next oppotunity. That time has finally come. They found a world lush in resources and a race of beings strong enough to serve as a workforce. Short of time, they sent through a single operative. That operative was given a single mission: To prepare this new world. To prepare it for the invasion.

This new world called "Earth".

Joshua and Kali Reed were just ordinary young Australian adults when their lives were turned upside down. Framed as terrorists, they find themselves on the run when Taiki Shade, a Japanese man with an enigmatic past, runs into their lives. With him are several Charzin who were pulled from their world into ours.

With the International Terrorism Intelligence Commission (ITIC) chasing them down, they and their Charzin companions have to find this operative and determine a way to prevent the Shadows from invading our world.

Five species. Three sides. One war. "Elementai."

It will be a five-book series, hopefully released three months apart beginning October. I will be publishing online through Lulu.com - something I decided to go with after seeing the print quality of their books; my sister's friend Tegan Norman publishes her Almagest series ([link]) on Lulu and I find the quality excellent). So far I plan to offer paperback, hardcover, and e-book versions to be downloaded, although I may offer audiobooks.

Other stuff

Well, my drawing style has improved over the last few months, and I've finally managed to remove outlines from my artwork. For a comparison, this is the old and this is the new. Bit of a difference.
